I had an idea for a simple hammer rack to make my obsession easier to access, and while I was designing it I get hit with a spark of inspiration. I was obsessed with the idea, however I was terrified that if the face was wrong I'd be crucified online. Welcome to being an artist! I tried talking myself into creating the simple rack but one must never entertain cheap and easy, I began my design process.
I spent the next 3 weeks lovingly creating every exquisite detail of Davey Jones, his tentacles positioned to hold and display my cherished hammer collection. This photograph was captured as I was bending the tentacles. I love the exhaustion that comes after the labor of work, it it soothes the savage beast.
